Victor served as a Sergeant and Right Waist Gunner on B-17 "Jerry Jinx" (#41-24607), 427th Bomber Squadron, 303rd Bomber Group, Heavy, U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II.

He resided in Lauderdale County, Mississippi prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army Air Corps on April 21, 1942 at Gowan Field, Boise, Idaho. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as a farmer and also as Single, without dependents.

Victor was declared "Missing In Action", along with the entire crew, while on mission to Lorient, France when they had to ditch their plane in the Bay of Biscay after being downed by German fighters.

He was awarded the Air Medal and the Purple Heart.
