Gerald Eugene Darger was born July 6, 1921, at Concord, Nebraska, to Walter and Viva Darger. Gerald was survived by parents, Walter and Viva, now deceased; one brother, Gordon, now deceased; and one sister, Doris, now deceased. His brother, Gordon, married Pat Darger and had a son, Gerald Eugene Darger, named after his heroic uncle.
