Second Lieutenant Norman Tyson Brown, born in 1921, was the son of David T. and Nancy A (Mathena) Brown of Monroe, Monroe County, Michigan. Monroe is on Lake Erie in far southeastern Michigan 22 miles northeast of Toledo, Ohio.
In the 1930 census 9 year-old Norman is living with his parents and older brother at 165 Handley Street in Imlay, Lapeer County, Michigan. His father is the editor of the local newspaper. Imlay is 58 miles due north of Detroit. By the 1940 census 19 year-old Norman is living with his parents and older brother George at 541 Packard Street in Ann Arbor. His father is a printer for a commercial printing company. Norman is a “Soda Clerk” in a retail drug store.

Norman married Margaret Agnes Foster on 11 Apr 1942 in Ann Arbor, MI.

The 390th Bomb Group was based out of Framlingham, England. Framlingham is in eastern England 100 mile northeast of London and 33 miles due south of Norwich.

The 390th Bomb Group flew missions on 13 May to oil production facilities in Germany and Czechoslovakia and on 19 May to factories in Germany and the Wilhem-Strasse Railroad Station. They were not in combat on 16 May 1944.
The NARA WWII Casualty Lists By State and County show 2nd Lt Norman T Brown as DNB (Died Non-Battle) so he died in the line of duty from some illness or accident on 16 May 1944.
