Douglas was a Staff Sergeant with the USAAF, 566th Bomb Squadron, 389th Bomb Group stationed in England. He was a nose gunner on B-24J Liberator #42-50452 "Earthquake Magoon." He was killed in service from a mid-air collision. Douglas was survived by his wife, Lois Dawson Brewer, and his father, Luther M. Brewer. Douglas received the Air Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, Purple Heart and WWII Victory Medal.
