Casualty of WWII, Sherman was a Second Lieutenant with 701 Bomb Group; a navigator/bombardier of a B-24J Liberator bomber. He was lost over France and was awarded the Purple Heart. He entered the service from Maine.(Veteran Service Dates from 02-26-1944 to 12-11-1944.)


His remains were subsequently recovered and interred August 23rd 2001 at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Arlington County, Virginia, USA. Plot: Section 60 Site 8024 (Find A Grave Memorial# 8789858) and on September 10, 2001 at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, St. Louis County Missouri, USA.
