David served as a Private First Class, 413rd Infantry Regiment, 104th Infantry Division, U.S. Army during World War II.

He resided in Strafford County, New Hampshire prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army on December 16, 1941 in Manchester, New Hampshire. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed in the manufacture of textiles and also as Single, without dependents.

David was "Killed In Action" near Eschweiler, Germany during the war.

He was awarded the Purple Heart.
