Memorial Rites for Pvt. Arthur Andrew
Friends are invited to attend memorial services for Pvt. Arthur Andrew to be conducted at the West Hill Methodist church at 3 p. m. Sunday.
Andrew, who was killed in action in Holland Sept. 13, was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Andrew, 1203 Aetna street, husband of Mrs. Winona Andrew, 100 S. Adams street, and father of 17-months-old Ronna Rae Andrew. He had 3 brothers, Raymond of Burlington, Richard of West Burlington, and Jack, serving in the air force in France. He entered service Dec. 1, 1943, had training at Camp Wheeler, Ga., and Ft. Meade, Md., and went overseas May 1, 1944. He served in the infantry.
He was a graduate of Burlington high school, and before entering the army was employed at the Iowa ordnance plant.
The memorial service will be conducted by Rev. O. L. Welshons, pastor of the Church of the Open Bible, and Rev. E. S. Blomquist, pastor of West Hill Methodist church. Andrew was a member of West Hill Methodist and active in the Church of the Open Bible.
