Edward served as a Private, 393rd Infantry Regiment, 99th Infantry Division, U.S. Army during World War II.

He resided in Cheshire County, New Hampshire prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army on July 7, 1944 in Manchester, New Hampshire. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as a Carpenter and also as Married.

Edward was "Killed In Action" near Linz, Austria during the war and was awarded the Purple Heart.

He was survived by his wife, Priscilla May Baird, daughters Priscilla Mary age 4, Katherine Elizabeth age 3, and Dorothy Ann age 6 months.
