Born in Poland, but which is now Lviv, Ukraine, he was the son of the late Menahem-Mendel Glansberg and Chane Glansberg; brother of Carl Glansberg of Somerset Street in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada and brother of Private Frank who served overseas with the Artillery; also brother of two sisters living in Poland.

Rifleman Maurice Glasberg is commemorated on Page 317 of Canada's Second World War Book of Remembrance.
He is also commemorated on Saskatchewan's Virtual War Memorial.
