Son of Samuel & Emma Matilda (nee High) Fagan of "Netherby", Galston, NSW. He enlisted in the Australian Imperial Force on 17 June 1916 and embarked from Sydney for active service abroad on 25 October 1916 per HMAT "Ascanius" (A11). He died of wounds received in action at the 6th General Hospital, Rouen, France, aged 25 years.
