James was my great-granduncle.

James served as a Judge in various counties in Kansas for many years.

He was the only son and the fourth of five children born to Thomas BUTLER Mary S. MYERS.

He was married to Hester Ann MCCULLOUGH on 26 Nov 1882 in Putnam Co., IN.

Their children together were:

Lona BUTLER Beauchamp (1884-1956)
Paul BUTLER (1888-1967)
Fay BUTLER Alleman (1890-1969)

James "Jim" Butler took seven children into his home and put them through school, two through college, besides his own.
