Son of Charles Edward Sing who resided in Derry, New Hampshire.

Charles served as a Seaman, First Class and armed guard, S.S. Charles C. Pinckney, U.S. Navy during World War II.

He resided in Rockingham County, New Hampshire prior to the war.

Charles was declared "Missing In Action" when the Pinckney was torpedoed and sunk by German submarine U-514 200 miles west of the Azores during the war.

He was awarded the Purple Heart.
