Son of Jess Sanow & Ida Sanow who resided in Rochester, New York.

Harvey served as a Staff Sergeant in the 322nd Fighter Control Squadron, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

He resided 38 Magee Avenue, Rochester, Monroe County, New York prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army on August 26, 1942 in Rochester, New York. He was noted as being employed as a Retail manager and also as Single, without dependents.

Harvey was declared "Missing In Action" when the HMT Rohna, on which he was a passenger, was attacked along with four other ships, by multiple Luftwaffe Heinkel 177 aircraft and sunk. He was awarded the Purple Heart.
