Mary E. Fearmonti, 90, of Girard, died at 11:20 P.M., Saturday, May 9, 2009, in the Girard Medical Center in Girard where she entered April 30.
She was born July 2, 1918 in Atchison, Kansas, a daughter of James Garfield and Dora Josephine (Smith) Kerns.
She moved from Kansas City, Kansas to Centerton, Arkansas at age 14 and graduated from Centerton High School.
She married Lee Roy Pitkin in 1939 in Centerton. He died during W. W. II in April of 1944.
She married James Charles Fearmonti on May 18, 1946 in Girard. He preceded her in death on February 4, 1973.
She owned and operated the Highway Inn Restaurant in Girard from 1975 until retiring in 1993.
She enjoyed her family and reading.
Survivors are daughters Joann Childers and John of Girard, Mary Ann Holloway and Gary of Girard, and Ethelyn Roberts and Eddie of Girard; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by sisters Ethel Zedrick and Dorothy Jessie Pope, and a nephew, Michael Zedrick.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday at the Girard Cemetery with Pastor Rick Prideaux officiating.
Friends are asked to meet at the cemetery.
Burial will be in the Girard Cemetery.
Friends may call after 2:00 P.M., Tuesday at the Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home in Girard.
Memorials are suggested to the Girard Medical Center Foundation and these may be left at the Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home, 518 W St. John, Box 258, Girard, 66743.
