Alice "Pauline" served as a Private First Class in the Women’s Army Corps, and was a passenger on C-47B #44-76406, 1202nd Air Air Force Base Unit, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

She resided in Marquette County, Wisconsin prior to the war.

C-47B #44-76406 took off, with a crew of 3 and 18 passengers, from Accra, Ghana on a transport mission to Robert's Field, Liberia. For an unknown reason "Mayday's" were heard from the C-47. They disappeared and are believed to have crashed into the sea near Takordi, Ghana. All 21 on board were lost.

Alice "Pauline" was declared "Missing In Action" on this flight during the war.

At the families request, her state of birth was added to her Wall Listing (Michigan) instead of her state of residence, as was normally done, (Wisconsin).

She also has a "cenotaph" in the Big Bay Cemetery, Big Bay, Michigan.
" Click Here " for that record.

Her brother, Sgt. William H. McKinney, was also "Killed In Action" in Belgium during the war.
