Cpl. U.S. Army Air Corps, World War II-Cpl. Martin was killed while as a passenger on a troopship bound for North Africa by a German U-Boat on 11-27-1943.

He is the son of Mr. & Mrs. Clarence Martin of 534 South 5th Street in Chillicothe, Illinois, and is a 1941 graduate of Chillicothe H.S., and worked for the Santa Fe Railroad before he enlisted in the Air Corps in Peoria on November 14, 1942, and did his training at Kessler Field, Mississippi, Chanute Field, Illinois, and Camp Kearns, Utah.

Awards: Purple Heart Medal, American Campaign Medal, European Campaign Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, WWII Victory Medal.
