Sgt Murwood Cowley

Murwood is the son of George Henry Cowley and Gerturde Edna (May) Cowley.

Murwood entered the service February 18 1941 in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah, USA.

He Served in the U. S. Army 1941-1942. He was a Sergant, 11th Regiment 1st Armoured Dnivision. Killed in Action in the Africa Area.
His body was never recovered. He has a memorial in the North Africa American Cemetery and Memorial In North africa.

Murwood received the Purple Heart Posthumously.

The Purple Heart is a United States military decoration awarded in the name of the President to those who have been wounded or killed while serving with the U.S. military.
