Jack served as a Second Lieutenant & Pilot on P-38G #42-13187, 96th Fighter Squadron, 82nd Fighter Group, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

He resided in Laramie County, Wyoming prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army Air Corps on January 28, 1942 at Fort Francis E. Warren, Cheyenne, Wyoming. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as an Actor and also as Single, without dependents.

Jack was declared "Missing In Action" when his P-38G was shot down off the coast of Italy by German aircraft during the war.

He was awarded Air Medal and the Purple Heart.
