Born in Laurel, she was a daughter of the late James Collins Walls and Mamie Jane Wright. She was preceded in death by her husband, Atwood Bennett Bailey, in 1990 and a brother, Elwood Walls.
She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Mrs. Bailey was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her son, Ernest L. Bailey and his wife, Ann P. Bailey, of Salisbury; two grandchildren, Aaron M. Bailey and his wife, Sylvia, and Hannah E. Bailey; two great-grandchildren, Olivia and Cameron Bailey; two stepgrandchildren, Bryan Townsend and his wife, Danielle, and Leeann Townsend; two stepgreat-grandchildren, Daniel and Jacob Townsend; a sister, Betty Ralph and her husband, David, of Laurel; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Bounds Funeral Home on East Main Street in Salisbury, where friends may call Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday 10 to 11 a.m. Ernest L. Bailey will officiate. Interment will follow in Parsons Cemetery.
