Born October 8, 1954, at Marlinton, he was a son of the late Stanley Fitzgerald and Erma Defibaugh Fitzgerald Simmons.
Butch was an equipment operator and was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Earnest Wilfong.
He is survived by his wife, Iva "Pixie" Rhodes Fitzgerald; a daughter, Amanda Dawn Fitzgerald, of Arbovale; four sisters, Dreama Skaggs, of Baltimore, Maryland, Tiffney Starr, of Marlinton, Barbara Cash, of Kansas, and Sue Wegner, of Salt Lake City, Utah; and five brothers, Mike Fitzgerald and Howard Fitzgerald, both of Marlinton, Jerry Lee Fitzgerald, of Virginia, Johnny Fitzgerald, of Cass, and Robert Wilfong, of Clarksburg.
Graveside service was August 2 at Huntersville Cemetery with Pastor John Reed officiating. Interment was in Huntersville Cemetery.
