OBITUARY FROM THE VIDETTE MESSENGER
DATED 10 NOV 1934
Lyman Shaner died today at 3:30 o'clock this morning of a heart attack. He was 75 years old and had been a resident of Chesterton for 50 years. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Fred Trowe of Chesterton, Mrs. Sam Bastel of Hammond and Mrs. Gail Bremhall (sic) {Braumhall] of Oil City, Pennsylvania; a son Carroll of Whiting; four sisters, Mrs. Hiwood of Chesterton, Mrs. McCarthy of Westville, Mrs. Coten of Burdick and Mrs. Wiseman (sic)[Wiesemann] of Chesterton and two brothers, Younger and Butler of Chesterton.
