Wilson Mosher Aikin ("Will") was born November 3o, 1879 on a farm near Springville, Iowa. He was the son of George Bradley Aiken and Amanda (Mosher) Aiken. Note the spelling of this family's name has been published with both spellings even in the history books. Wilson married Nellie Mae Smith August 12,1901. Wilson died at St. Lukes Hospital in Cedar Rapids on June 7,1951.
As a young man, Will went to Oregon and Washington States where he worked in lumber camps. The cook at one of the cmps failed to show up for work one morning, so Will volunteered to cook breakfast for the men. He remained as camp cook for the duration of his stay in that area. He later cooked in cages in those states until he returned to Iowa and married Nellie. In 1911 they bought a farm from Josheph Mann. Will built many of the building that are still in use today. After wife Nellie's death, he married Nellie (Soesbe) Wilcox, widow of Leo Wilcox, on June 25,1944. He worked for Collins Radio for about 2 years, before becoming a feed salesman for Vigortone Products of Cedar Rapids.
