Casualty of the Great War, Charlie served in the Royal Engineers attached Royal Flying Corps.
He was 19 and the son of Harry Reginald and Alphonsine Rowley of 120 St. Mildreds Rd., Ramsgate, Kent.He was Gazetted in August 1915.
His father was a Customs Officer in 1901 when the family were living at Burleigh Park Avenue, Barking, Essex.
His mother was born in France and became a naturalized British subject.
