1918-2000

Clarksdale, Mo.- Beulah M. (Yarnell) Thornton, 82, Clarksdale died Sunday, July 2, 2000 at a St. Joseph hospital.
Mrs. Thornton, a homemaker was born Jan. 20, 1918 in Stewartsville, Mo. She attended school in Clarksdale where she lived most of her life.
On June 18, 1935, she married Jewell Thornton in Plattsburg, Mo. He died in 1986.
Mrs. Thornton was a member of United Methodist Church in Clarksdale and the United Methodist Women of the church.
She also was preceded in death by her parents, Lizzie and Artie Yarnell; four brothers, Elden, Ralph, Dale and Tom Yarnell and two sisters, Faye Johnson and an infant.
Surviving: two daughters, Rita Hecker and Linda Haskell, both of Maysville, Mo.; a brother, Covel Yarnell, St. Joseph; five grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Service: 1:30 p.m. Thursday, United Methodist Church, Clarksdale. Burial: Memorial Park Cemetery, St. Joseph. Visitation: 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Bram Funeral Home, Maysville. Memorials may be made to Clarksdale United Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society and sent to Bram Funeral Home, Box 350, Maysville, MO 64469
