Brigadier General Arthur Willoughby George Lowry Cole C B, D S O was the son of Colonel Arthur Lowry Cole and Frances Elizabeth Hatton.
He married Mary Gertrude Browning, daughter of Thomas Browning, on 28 February 1908.

Died of wounds.age 54 years.

He fought in the Burma Campaign between 1885 and 1887.
He fought in the West African Campaign in 1900.
He fought in the Boer War in 1901.
He was Commandant of the North Nigeria Regiment between 1904 and 1907
He fought in the West African Campaign in 1906.
He fought in the First World War.
He gained the rank of Temporary Brigadier-General.
