He was the son of Ede Edward and Hilda May White, of Berry, New South Wales, Australia. John was Warrant Officer, in the Royal Australian Air Force. Service Number: 421114. He was on a navigation exercise in a Halifax JD417 and took off from RAF Lindholme. They were lost in low cloud and bad weather. The aircraft hit Yr Eifl near Trefor, Llyn Peninsular. All the crew were killed. John died aged 24 yrs.
