Son of the late William Daly and Christina Daly of 26 Wills Street, Ballarat, Victoria. A salesman prior to enlistment, he embarked with the 14th Reinforcements from Melbourne on HMAT "Themistocles" (A32) on 28th January 1916. After transferring to the 58th Battalion he was killed in action, aged 17 years.
