Funeral services for Lane Sheffield, 71, of Jasper will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday at the Friendship Church near Roganville. The Rev Jack Coker, pastor of the Calvary Baptist Church of Jasper will officiate. Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery under the direction of J O Stringer Funeral Home.
Mr Sheffield died at 2:20 AM Saturday, May 5, 1962. He was a retired grocery clerk and a member of the Calvary Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs Maggie Sheffield of Jasper; two daughters, Mrs Melva Crawford and Mrs Reba McMahon, both of Jasper; a son, James Clyde Sheffield of Tyler; five brothers, Polk Sheffield of Sour Lake, Marvin Sheffield of Kirbyville, the Rev Robert Sheffield of Huntsville and Joe Sheffield and Bruce Sheffield, both of Roganville; three sisters, Mrs Miriam Adams, Mrs Lena Burnett and Mrs Esther Buchanan, all of Kirbyville; 3 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
