Archibald served as a Captain in the Signal Corps, U.S. Army during World War II.

It is unsure where he actually resided prior to the war. He is noted, via some records, as residing in Dansville, Livingston County, New York. His headstone shows Pennsylvania however.

Arch was "Killed In Action" during the war and was awarded the Purple Heart.

He was originally interred in Okinawa Island Cemetery and was later repatriated here on November 1, 1949.

He was noted as being from Livingston County, New Hampshire on the "Honor List of Dead & Missing of World War II" at archives.
