Lt. Ralph Crume Is Killed In Action in South Pacific

Lt. Ralph Crume, 24, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Crume, former residents here who now live on route 1, Willard, has been reported killed in action in the South Pacific, on January 22, the War department said yesterday. He was a graduate of Greenwood high school and is the first causalty among the alumni there. He was attending STC at the time of his enlistment in the Army Air Corps two years ago, and was a member of the Kappa Alpha fraternity. Lieutenant Crume received most of his training at Santa Ana, Cal., and was commissioned last March at Williams Field, Ariz. He spent from March until October stationed on the west coast and in August - six weeks before going overseas - was married to a California girl. His wife is at present in Willard. Other survivors are one brother, Edward Crume of San Antonio, Texas; and three sisters, Mrs. John Rhodes, 808 South Hampton; and Mrs. Eugene Scafe and Mrs. Betty Brandon, both of Woodbury, N.J.
