Having actually gone "Missing" on the above date, he was not officially declared by the military as being dead until January 18, 1946.

Husband of Leona M. Cota who resided in Burlington, Vermont.

Floyd served as a Sergeant & Gunner on B-25D #41-30777, 396th Bomber Squadron, 41st Bomber Group, Medium, U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II.

He resided in Chittenden County, Vermont prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army Air Corps on January 31, 1942 in Rutland, Vermont. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as a Filling Station Attendant and also as Married.

Floyd was declared "Missing In Action" when his B-25 crashed into the sea south of Taroa Island during the war. The reason for the crash was unknown but believed to be from enemy action.

He was awarded the Air Medal and the Purple Heart with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster.
