Son of Charles B. Miller and Rose Nero Miller.

Robert, who resided at 1201 Reed Street, Wilmington, Delaware, served as a Signalman Third Class, U.S.S. O'Brien (DD-725), U.S. Navy during World War II.

He was declared "Missing In Action" off Okinawa in a bombing attack while on the O'Brien.

He had served in the Navy for two years and two months at the time of his death and was awarded a Purple Heart.
