Richard served as a Fireman, First Class in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He resided at 693 Park Avenue, Rochester, Monroe County, New York prior to the war.

He was declared "Missing In Action" in the Pacific area during the war.

His remains were not recovered.

He was awarded the Purple Heart.
