Husband of Mary Pauline Boardman who resided in Canaan, Connecticut.

Earl served as a Machinist's Mate Second Class, 32nd Construction Battalion, U.S. Navy during World War II.

He resided in Litchfield County, Connecticut prior to the war.

Earl died in the "Line Of Duty" in what was known as the West Loch Disaster at Pearl Harbor during the war. 163 were killed and 396 injured during this explosion.

His remains were not recovered.
