BECK KILLED LAST MONTH IN PACIFIC
George Beck, PO3c, son of Mr. and Mrs. Kreg Beck of Gurnsey, was killed in action on December 27, it was learned here last week.

Beck was in the Southwest Pacific. He enlisted in the Navy April 29, 1942, took his boot training at Farragut, Idaho, and was then sent to Bremerton, Wash. He left for overseas in September 1943.

Custer, S. Dak., was the birthplace of George Beck, and he lived there, with his parents until the date of his entrance into the service. He attended the Custer public schools.

Beck is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. J.C. Cullum of Newcastle, and a nephew of Mrs. Tobe Kaiser, Mrs. Roy Stevens, Marshal and Winfield Cullum, all of Newcastle.
