Son of Mrs. Agnes Barr who resided in Rochester, New York.

David served as a Corporal & Tail Gunner on B-29 #42-65362, 62nd Bomber Squadron, 39th Bomber Group, Very Heavy, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

He resided at 157 University Avenue, Rochester, Monroe County, New York prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army on April 5, 1944 at Camp Upton, Yaphank, New York. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being Single, without dependents.

David was declared "Missing In Action" over Guam when his B-29, while on a bombing mission to Tokyo, was hit by enemy flak and crashed at sea during the war.

He was awarded an Air Medal and a Purple Heart.
