Burton, who resided at R.D., Clayton, Delaware, served as a Electrician's Mate Second Class on the U.S.S. Albacore (SS-218), U.S. Navy during World War II.

He was "Lost At Sea" when the Albacore was sunk.

He had served in the Navy for two years at the time of his death and was decorated with the Purple Heart.

Son of Paul Misner Johnson and Margaret Borton Johnson.

Burton was the only Delawarean lost on the Albacore.
