Staff Sergeant Hatton was killed when
U.S. Army Air Corps B-24D Liberator
#41-23901 caught fire in flight and crashed
onto the Wailua Sugar Cane Plantation at
Waimea Fall, Hawaii.

Four crew died and four parachuted to ground.
Wreck was re-discovered in 1994.
