GLENDALE, Ariz. - Erma Ruth Hanks, 78, died
May 5, 1990, at Boswell Memorial Hospital,
Sun City, Ariz.
She was born Jan. 11, 1912, at Kazenovia,
111., the daughter of Aaron and Magdelena
Birky Kauffman.
A resident of Ness County for 28 years,
moving to Arizona in 1978, she was a
retired nurse at Grisell Memorial
Hospital, Ransom.
She was a former member of the First
Mennonite Church, Ransom.
On Jan. 1, 1954, she married Mark Hanks at
Ransom. He died June 16,1975.
Survivors include: three brothers, Melvin
Kauffman, Minier, 111., Dale Kauffman,
Grand Forks, N.D., and Russell Kauffmann,
Hot Springs, Ark.; and two sisters, Gladys
Kauffman, Glendale, Ariz., and Dorothy Miller,
Millersburg, Ohio.
Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday
in White Rock Cemetery, Pendennis, with the
Rev. Walter Neufeld presiding. Fitzgerald
Funeral Home, Ness City, is in charge of arrangements.
