Private Alexander Robertson, Royal Scots Fusiliers, was the son of James Robertson and of his wife Jean Reid, 71 Lochland Street, Arbroath. He was twenty-three years of age, and had married Janet Webster and left one son. Before joining the army in April 1916 Private Robertson was in business in North Port as a hairdresser. After a year's service he died of wounds in a Casualty Clearing Station in France on the 21st of April 1917. Private Robertson had two brothers serving in the Royal Field Artillery.
