Son of James Eli Palmer and Maude A Palmer of Warner, New Hampshire.

Donald served as a Private First Class, 417th Infantry Regiment, 76th Infantry Division, U.S. Army during World War II.

He resided in Merrimack County, New Hampshire prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army on April 25, 1944 at Fort Deven's, Massachusetts. He was noted as being Single, without dependents.

Donald was "Killed In Action" near the Siegfried Line in Belgium during the war.

He was awarded the Purple Heart.
