Alfred served as a Private First Class, 63rd Infantry Battalion, 11th Armored Division, U.S. Army during World War II.

He resided in Hillsborough County, New Hampshire prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army on November 25, 1942 in Manchester, New Hampshire. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed in the manufacture of textiles and also as Single, without dependents.

Alfred was "Killed In Action" near Houffalize, Belgium during the war.

He was awarded the Purple Heart.
