Son of Osias and Freda Berger of Niagara Street in Windsor. In 1935, Samuel along with his parents, his brother and his three sisters emigrated to Canada. The family settled in Windsor, where Samuel attended Begley school.Private Samuel Berger is commemorated on Page 58 of Canada's Second World War Book of Remembrance. The words enscribed on Private Berger's grave headstone were chosen by his brother, Joseph Berger.
