Samuel Price
Samuel Price passed away at the age of 78 years, 4 months at his home in Jay, on July 1, 1958 of a cerebral hemorrhage.
Mr. Price, son of Amanda and David Benjamin Price, was born in Russellville, Ark. on March 1, 1880. At an early age he moved with his parents to India Territory. In October, 1902 he was married to Mary Partain. To this union was born eleven children. His wife Mary, a infant son and the eldest son George preceded him in death. He is survived by seven daughters, two sons, thirty-two grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday morning at the Clark Funeral Home in Jay, with Rev. Ward Allen officiating.
Mr. Price was a farmer and stockman at Eucha until his retirement in December 1950. At that time he and his wife moved to Jay, where Mrs. Price died in 1952.
Mr. Price was a member of the Eucha School Board for many years. He was interested in polities, serving on the election board, and maintaining an active interest in elections, even to the day of his death. He was a member of the Methodist Church in Jay.
His family and many friends mourn his passing.
