Funeral services for Mr. Eugene Cox, 67, of Hilham, were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 7, 2010 from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home, with Bro. Mike Ayers officiating.
Burial was in Overton County Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Cox died Thursday, August 5, at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was a machine operator in auto parts manufacturing.
Born April 8, 1943 in Jackson County, he was the son of the late Robert and Versie (Beechboard) Cox. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Pearly Atchley and Christine Westmoreland; and a brother, Joe Cox.
Survivors include his wife, Hilda Cox of Hilham; a son, Michael Cox of Hilham; a daughter, Sharon Ashlock of Hilham; 2 brothers and a sister-in-law, Shirley and Earlene Cox of Hilham, and Bobby Cox of Rockwood, TN; 7 sisters and 2 brothers-in-law, Veachel Pennington of Celina, Avo and Richard Hall of White House, TN; Cleo Cox and Edna Rich, both of Rickman, Dimple and Larry Lee of Red Boiling Springs, TN, Emogene Daniels of Sparta, and Dolly Rich of Celina; and 5 grandchildren, Desiree Ashlock, Demetria Ashlock, Dylan Ashlock, Cody Cox, and Nicholas Cox.
Pallbearers were Cody Cox, Nicholas Cox, Dylan Ashlock, Donald Ashlock, Raymond Brown, and Patrick Melton.
