Bob was born January 31, 1929 in Clarendon, TX to Wade and Estella Martin Bagwell. He married Jessie M. Green on July 2, 1950 in Clarendon, TX and together they raised two daughters and a son. He served our country in the United States Air Force as a radio operator on the B-17 and B-36 as well as a pilot on the B-25 during tours in Japan and Korea. After the Korean War he served in a classified position in Washington D.C. Bob retired in 1991 as a District Manager from McLane Wholesale Grocery Company after many years service. He loved to bowl, play dominos, especially 42, and when he was younger he loved to play golf. He was a deacon at Western Hill Baptist Church.
Mr. Bagwell is preceded in death by his son, Gregory Bruce Bagwell; parents, Wade and Estella Bagwell; sisters, Eva Jo Taylor, and Wanda Nell Richardson.
Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years this Friday, Jessie Bagwell; daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Wes Cox of Weatherford, TX, Lisa and Damon Pickett of Wichita Falls; brothers, Mike Bagwell of Westport, WA, Roy and wife Roxanne Bagwell of Caballo, NM; granddaughters, Elisha Cox of Dallas, TX, Mandi and husband Robbie Freeman of Wichita Falls, and Amber Pickett of Wichita Falls.
Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday July 2, 2010 at Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Western Hills Baptist Church youth fund.
