He was born April 26, 1832, on Lost Creek near Pleasant Grove Church. In September, 1862, he enlisted at Jasper as a private in Company E, Twenty-eighth Alabama Infantry, under Captain Lollar, and served until the close of the war. He died January 24, 1911.
