PETER A. MALLOT WAS KILLED IN ACTION
His Death Reported to Have Occurred Sept. 28, 1918
After repeated attempts to hear from Peter A. Mallot, word reached here Wednesday that he was killed in battle in the vicinity of Mount Faucon, France, September 28, 1918. This information came direct from his commanding officer, Capt. Robt. W. Norton, 39th Infantry, Coblenz, Germany. The communication states that Private Mallot "helped the Regiment to do its share of the work of the American Army which brought the war to an end so quickly."
Private Mallot was born in Pennsylvania, March 12, 1886, and was 33 years of age. The notice of his death was received on his birthday. He was a member of Company "G", 39th Infantry, 4th Division. He was working in Chicago at the time of his enlistment.
The survivors are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Mallot; two brothers, Harry and Matt Mallot, both of this city, and three sisters, Mrs. J.A. Fischer of Chicago; Mrs. Timothy Howard and Mrs. Harry Farrow, both of Lexington.
