Died Thursday, Sept. 7, 1995, at 12:40 a.m. at his residence in Baton Rouge. He was 77 and a native of Franklin City, Miss. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., 9 a.m. until religious services at 11 a.m. Friday, conducted by the Rev. Roy Myers and the Rev. Jim Bain. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Survived by wife, Luvenia A. Hemphill, Baton Rouge; two daughters and a son-in-law, Betty A. Hemphill and Patsy H. andRoger L. Cox, all of Baton Rouge; two stepdaughters, Betty Oglesby, Meadville, Miss., and Carolyn Runnels, Vicksburg, Miss.; a stepson, Billy Arnold, Hattiesburg, Miss.; and two grandchildren, Kayla A. Cox and Amanda L. Cox, both of Baton Rouge. Precededin death by wife, Ruby Osborne Hemphill; and two sisters, Emma Hemphill Osborne and Zelma Hemphill Mullins. Pallbearers will be Pete Osborne, Edwin Osborne, Gary Osborne, Clemon Mullins, Harold Thompson and Tiger Blackwell. He was a member of Meadville Baptist Church.
