Son of the late William Arnold and Annie E. Arnold of 89 Thomson Street, Albert Park, Victoria. He enlisted in the Australian Imperial Force on 9 July 1915 and embarked from Melbourne on 29 September 1915 per HMAT "Osterley". He was killed in action at Fleurbaix, France, aged 27 years.
